When Willie Ito began gymnastics neither he nor his parents knew how far it would take him. It took him as far as the USA Junior National Team and a full ride to the number one NCAA Gymnastics team in the country. Willie first made the Junior National Team in 1999. He won the high bar National title four times while on the Junior Team, the parallel bar National Title three times, and in 2001 he won the All Around Junior National Title. In fall of 2003 Willie left his Southern California gym to go and train at Ohio State University under coach Miles Avery. Willie has done nothing but step up for the buckeyes. He started off his freshman season by dominating the pommel horse. His Sophomore season was just as successful as Willie helped OSU take home the big ten title and place second at the NCAA National Championships.
